Former President of the Launceston Skeptics, Former Vice-chair of the March for Science Australia and Lead Event Organiser for the March for Science Hobart & Launceston., and a science advocate who seeks to promote critical thinking and an understanding of the scientific method. I’m here to help make science accessible to the community in fun and interesting ways. My day job is in international research strategy where I foster global collaboration. I like working across academic, government, and NGO sectors, and am active in a silly amount of extracurriculars. I’m a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of South Australia. My research intersects the life and social sciences, exploring whether we can improve brain functioning and mental health through built environment design. I enjoy learning from different fields, helping form new collaborations… I am a professional science communicator with a passion for making science accessible for everyone. I work in educational outreach, help run science festivals nationally and play a bit of jazz on the side! I’ve just finished a PhD in biomedical research, but I’ve decided to shift from lab life to the more administrative side of science. I always love a good nerdy joke, and I’m constantly trying to share the joy of science and have new scientific adventures! I am an advocate for equitable and accessible STEM education. I am currently an Outreach Fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne, committed to helping people discover and pursue STEM interests and pathways. I'm a pharmacist/stem cell researcher, dog lover and craft beer enthusiast. I love sharing our scientific world with the community. I have previous experience in the local team, looking forward now to contribute to the national team and learn a bit about what's happening around us. With a background in media and communications, I'm passionate about creating engaging content that makes science accessible, relatable and exciting for everyone. You’ll often find me with a camera and microphone in hand, asking as many curious questions about science and research as possible! Scarlett has a PhD in bee training (yes, really). She pursues science communication alongside bee cognition, pollination, and conservation research. Scarlett is an advocate of effective science communication to make research more accessible. She has a dog and loves reading long fantasy series. I'm a mechanical engineer with a thirst for science and beer! As a current communications professional with a long history of working in events, I enjoy the journey of bringing people together for an event and am passionate about content creation advocating equitable and accessible STEM education. Outside of work, you’ll find me seeking out the sun, book and c… I love finding the weird and wonderful parts of science from present to past and pulling them up for the world to see. I work as a Graduate Environmental Scientist with Sydney Water, and in my free time, I'm a fiend for podcasts, audiobooks and The 1975's entire discography. Hi! I'm Ryan and i'm a neuroscientist who has just spent the last four years growing mini brains in a dish! These mini brains - aka brain organoids - are amazing research tools that i've been using to research how the brain grows it's iconic wrinkly surface (all without the need for any animal testi…
